Nooks and crannies

Kevin spotted this male red-bellied woodpecker way up in the tree yesterday. He spent a good deal of time munching on insects he was finding in the nooks and crannies of this tree limb. This particular limb was also convenient as shelter from the rain that was falling during his meal.
